Zimmerman & Frachtman Asked to Appear at Texting and Driving Press Conference

On January 30th, State Senator Maria Sachs held a press conference at Broward College to announce her initiative to pass a new bill in Florida making it illegal to text and drive. Senator Sachs’ office contacted Zimmerman & Frachtman after seeing the recent article regarding the dangers of texting and driving, which has appeared in several magazines throughout South Florida. Joshua Frachtman showed his support for the Senator’s bill and had the opportunity to speak with Senator Sachs about ways to become more involved in the process.

Following the press conference, Broward Sheriff Officers conducted simulations demonstrating the difference in reaction time when a driver was forced to make a quick decision when receiving a text. We also had the opportunity to participate in the simulation. WSVN 7 accompanied by an attorney during his test drive, which can be seen in the video behind the link. Making the roadways safer for all drivers is at the heart of the Senator’s bill, and we are thrilled to have been a part of this important announcement.
